Whose fault is it?

The US mails... always. and mine of course.

Chase pisses me off. They took over Washington Mutual whom I have a credit card with. Payment is always due on the 16th of the month. So, I log in and Lo and Behold!!! Its now the 13th! I pay and it processes on the 15th and I am charged a late fee of $39.00. Picture me upset.

Well, perhaps not that upset, but you can thank me now for the gratuitous Hugh Jackman picture. Yummy!!!

Moving on... I call, I explain it was not on my on-line statement that it would change and I am told that a Change in terms was mailed to me In January and it was not their fault but it was the "US mails" fault so I still have to pay. So I tell them I did not receive this notice, so why it it now not the US mails fault, but mine? Why can they use that excuse but not me? My answer:

Well, it was Silence...not this creepy guy...but you get the point.

So I now wrote to the company and I am hoping for a better outcome. I guess they would rather lose my business (I also have a bank account) rather than refund me $39.00
They sound like a bunch of

All of this consolidation... such a mess. I can't believe they wouldn't waive that. Definitely MAJOR losers.

That is so lame! I hate that Chase took over wamu as well!

I never got ANYTHING in the mail informing me of that by the way.

USUALLY...if a mistake like that has happened to me - I have been refunded (different bank) and there isn't an issue.

That would piss me off! :)

Hope it gets taken care of!

I don't know how long you have been a customer, but they will usually waive at least one charge like this.

I'm with WaMu/Chase too! I TOTALLY get where you're coming from!
Be persistant. It's ridiculous for them NOT to take the late fee off of you're account. Talk to a Manager. You are woman, hear you roar! :->

Not good, not at all. I'd be reporting them to the BBB. At least then there's a record of it somewhere.

Ugh! I had a Chase account when I lived in New York...hated them! They would charge $3.00 if you used the drive through window or even went up to the counter - a fee per transaction for dealing with a real live person... They're morons for not waiving that $39 fee right away - obviously they're not out to impress their 'new' customers...hopefully your letter will result in positive feedback! ((HUGZ!))

OMG! The same thing happened to me with Chase! It's like they make their own rules, change them when they feel like it and get away with it.
