It is afterall considered major surgery, it is painful and it takes a very long time to recover.
If people are actually choosing to go through that, well more power to them... Just as long as Mommy and baby's health are being considered.
It is certainly not up to the public to criticize such personal matters.

BTW...Thanks for stopping by my blog. Looking forward to reading more of yours.Nataliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09482932088816675161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1993183438900036633.post-59385545571096018672008-10-19T12:21:00.000-07:002008-10-19T12:21:00.000-07:00I had 3 c sections. My 1st was because he was breach.

I tried a v-bac (vaginal birth after Cesarean) with #2, and after 20 hours of labor, I dilated to 2 and stopped. His huge head was stuck.

They didn't allow me to try another vbac with my 3rd. They took him 2 weeks early.

I just wanted to be a Mama, whichever way was the best according to my wishes and my Dr's.
If C section was safest for us... then great.

They weren't so bad. Labor hurt like hell, but so did the incision.
Either way, we can't seem to get out of having pain with having children.

Great post!Sandrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14534463785605832840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1993183438900036633.post-60867774180031188072008-10-18T18:26:00.000-07:002008-10-18T18:26:00.000-07:00I say to each their own. I personally was terrified of having a c-section and prayed and prayed that my pregnancy did not end in one. I was lucky, things were headed in that direction, but the crisis was averted. I haven't had one, so to me it feels foreign, but whatever is best for baby and mom is the way to go.Andreahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15314573285977348597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1993183438900036633.post-55240397283187187352008-10-18T16:01:00.000-07:002008-10-18T16:01:00.000-07:00I agree with you. Of course the Dr. should also take into consideration the health of the baby when deciding on the c section. Personally I never had a C section but for many women that is in their best interest.Cascia Talberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12001701584084843029noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1993183438900036633.post-25228169808003027632008-10-18T15:54:00.000-07:002008-10-18T15:54:00.000-07:00I had a planned c section. and it was great. since...I had a planned c section. and it was great. since i live in costa rica, my mom was able to fly in for the time of the delivery! it worked out great.
I've added you to my new blogger friends! My second was a VBAC.

I don't think it's anyone's business how others choose to have their babies, unless asked. It's their body, their child, their choice and if something goes wrong then on their head be it.

Some people don't get a choice though because they are badgered by hospital staff & their OB into one intervention after another that don't work because it really isn't time for the baby to be born and end up with a CS. I don't agree with that.ComfyMom~Staceyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15645425225886356909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1993183438900036633.post-62942410917494587932008-10-18T08:58:00.000-07:002008-10-18T08:58:00.000-07:00Honestly C-sections scare me so I wouldn't have ha...Honestly C-sections scare me so I wouldn't have had one unless it was a dire emergency. I don't know what I believe about C-sections for convenience though. I worry about ORs being tied up and someone who needs an emergency one not being able to get it and a baby dieing.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1993183438900036633.post-67198306118777648892008-10-18T08:33:00.000-07:002008-10-18T08:33:00.000-07:00My first born was induced (a day before her due da...My first born was induced (a day before her due date) b/c my dr was leaving on vacation. I wanted him to deliver her so I was fine with it. It was the dr's idea. I know my father was really upset with me b/c he felt like we shouldn't force her out if she wasn't ready. I think it's so awesome that you can schedule the exact moment your kid is born... I hated the waiting and anticipation of when it was going to happen and where my water was going to break. Luckily, I was induced both times so it was sort of planned.Caseyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13477976300026766137noreply@blogger.com
