Getting to know me...Christmas edition

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Both

2. Real tree or Artificial? I love a real tree... but I have 3 cats and 2 kids. I am not sure which ones are more destructive. I know the cats are cuter when they pull the ornaments off than the kids are....hahahaha
For right now, I have a small Ghetto tree (see post below)

3. When do you put up the tree? Early December usually. It is already up tho... my boys were asking for it.

4. When do you take the tree down? Usually after the new years!

5. Do you like eggnog? No way! I do not care for eggs.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? Barbie town house. It looked similar to this:

7. Hardest person to buy for? My sister...she is picky, picky. She does love Pam Schifferl ornaments like I do tho...so its getting easier.

8. Easiest person to buy for? My mom, she loves anything and everything!


9. Do you have a nativity scene? No.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? I mail photo cards, does anyone really e-mail cards???

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? A cheap dollar store frame that had "tubby time" on it (I am hoping it meant for a babies bath, not for my tubby tummy)

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? A Christmas Carol the old, old version. The 1951 version actually...its cool and creepy.

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Usually around late November. Most of it is done online though.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Ummm... well....


15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Polenta with Sausage and chicken. Its out traditional Italian Christmas day meal (Christmas Eve is cioppino and New Years eve used to be Bagna Calda but we stopped making it yearly)

16. Lights on the tree? Heck yeah! I like all white and colored...just depends on my mood!

17. Favorite Christmas song? Winter Wonderland, and O Holy Night

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? We travel to my sisters house (1.5 hrs away) this year, but we usually trade off.

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's? Yes, I can... I will not post them, cause you might copy...LOL

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? I like a Star best!

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? We open one on Christmas Eve and the rest on Christmas day!

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? Trying to budget for presents when you just want to be able to splurge and get your kids their hearts desires for once.

23. Favorite ornament theme or color? I am an obsessive Pam Schifferl collector. Other than that, I have no themes.


24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? Honey baked ham!!! And my Brother in law's lemon potatoes.

25. What do you want for Christmas this year? A few gift cards, I really would love to get some new clothes!

1) What would you say your most fundamental flaw is? My inability to let well enough alone. I have to pick, pick, pick at someone and something to get the desired result. With my loser ex-boyfriend it was about staying in a fight and discussion until the end of days! I want everything resolved... I hate when things are not settled. It unnerves me.


2) What was your dream growing up?
I wanted to be a singer. What I really wanted to be was Olivia Newton-John.



Who could blame me? She was beautiful and a great singer. (At least i thought so, which is why I cut every picture of her out of a magazine and pasted it in a photo album...I eventually had 10 such photo albums)

3) What talent do you wish you had?
I would love to sing. I would also love to be creative, I would love to paint...especially cats. I am obsessed with the beauty and gracefulness of cats. Could there be a more heart breakingly beautiful animal?



No wonder the Ancient Egyptians worshipped them.

4) If I were bought a drink what would it be?
Pina Colada Baby!!! I love Foo Foo Girly drinks!

I like many... I love Brussel Sprouts and Carrots.

HELL NO. (Well, only my ears) I don't care for pain, and I don't care for the look of piercings and tattoo's

9) Worst Habit?
Procrastination. I am the worst... I put off everything until the very last minute. Then I berate myself for it, but I never change. UGH


10) What is your favourite sport?
I have none. If I were forced to pick... um, Don't force me. It might get ugly.


11) Do you have a Negative or Optimistic attitude?
I think I lean towards Pessimism, with a dollop of Optimism. My glass is always half full. But I prefer to live in reality and be pleasantly surprised if things go right!


12) Tell me one weird fact about you.
I am a Harry Potter fanatic. LOVE the books, the movies... everything. I think JK Rowling is one of the most gifted and talented writers this world has ever known...Shakespeare being #1 in my book.



OK, that's not really weird...but I didn't have anything good for ya. I am not double jointed, I cant touch my nose with my tongue and I cant burp the ABC's!


13) Do you have any pets?
3 gorgeous, beautiful and annoying Black cats. Rudy, Percy and Polly.

Creepy. Who likes clowns?

15) If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be?
I would like to be thin... thin with no effort! I am a little vain actually. I think I am cute otherwise.

Brown...just brown.


17) If you won $10,000 today, what would you do with it?
Pay off my car, credit cards and then have a shopping spree! I need new clothes desperately. Then I would be a mature adult and save the rest. I know, its so boring and responsible of me. Blah


18) Do you believe in ghosts?
Yes. Ive seen a ghost actually... but being me, it was just a ghost of a non scary dog... nothing like Most Haunted Live

19) Favourite thing to do in your spare time?
I have little spare time, I have 2 boys under the age of 4, 3 cats and a full time job. But when I do have some time I surf my forums, I read a little and I practice being right... LOL The latter comes quite easily for me.

20) Do you swear a lot?
A little. I try to be good.

21) Biggest pet peeve?
Rudeness. Period. If you cant say a kind word, or say "Thank You" and "Please" I have no time for you.

22) In one word, how would you describe yourself?
Unique

23) Do you believe/appreciate romance?
I love romance in movies, poetry and books... I am not overly romantic in my every day life though... when my husband acts romantic, I tend to giggle.

24) Do you believe in God?
No, I honestly believe God was invented to keep peasants in line, explain the sometimes unexplainable, help people to cope with the bad things that happen in this world, and to give hope. Its easier to say "It's God's will" than to accept and try to understand that bad things happen sometimes without rhyme or reason. That's just my honest opinion.

5 things I hate about you

Well, five things I hate about me.

1. I can be judgmental. I am working on this, I notice as my self esteem has gotten better, my need to judge has gotten better. But sometimes without thinking, I still do it. This is the dumbest one though. I judge people just like me and I feel ashamed of myself. Because I am also poor, fat and a slacker mom at times. I am really trying to stop being so judgmental and realize it comes out in me when I am feeling low, when I am feeling worthless. Because I do not like being judged for those reasons and I know I am and I know how it hurts.

2. I hate that I yell at my kids. Not the usual "Italian Momma" yell. That is completely different. That yell is like a culture thing! LOL No, I am talking about mean yelling. I have told my husband to stop me when he sees it. I have been improving due to this. I need to learn that just because they are doing bad things, they do not deserve to be treated without respect and kindness. I have a hot temper and this is a hard one for me... but if I want my boys to grow up with the best I can offer them, I have to learn to stop this behavior.

3. I know I come off as harsh at times... but I wish I were not so emotional about things. I hate seeing animals hurt (sometimes I see cats hit by cars) and letting that affect my whole day, my moods. I hate that I cry and wish I could do something and I let it make me doubt everything.

4. I hate that I am poor. LOL Who wouldn't? I hate that I want to be like other people and go buy my kids $40.00 pairs of shoes and $60.00 outfits from the boutique. I do like the fact that I am unimpressed by wealth and wealthy people... I just hate that I want to be rich... just so I can buy fun things and collect art work and take trips. I wish I could be completely happy with what I have. Because I do realize I have a lot to be thankful for. I have things others wish for. I have an awesome hubby who loves me, helps me, is supportive of me and always does his fair share (if not more) I have awesome friends, a great job and a wonderful (if slightly dysfunctional) family. Why cant I be happy with that?

5. I hate that I am kinda wimpy. I can tell it like it is here, online... but sometimes I have a hard time "in real life" my knees shake, my heart races, I sweat. If I don't speak up, then I regret not doing so and get angry with myself. If I do then I worry about if I said it right, if I made my points. I second guess myself. Sometimes I wish I was a little more assertive. Sometimes I am... but there are times I let things slide and I shouldn't.
